Author: Dash, Mary
Biography:
DASH, Mary (fl 1827)
Almost certainly she lived in Brighton where Sacred and Moral Pieces was printed to be sold at three addresses (29 Ship Street, 2 Prince’s Place, and 29 East Cliff), but it has not been possible to trace her identity. She may have been a non-conformist; the poems are religious. The subscription list is dominated by women’s names but it lacks place names. Mary Dash is not a common name but there are no obvious candidates among the few women with her name who lived in or near Brighton at this date. SR
