DARLING, Jessy [Janet] Rolland, later NICHOLSON (1786-c 1816: ancestry.co.uk)
She was born on 2 Oct. 1786 at Edinburgh to William Darling and Patricia (Rolland) Darling (q.v.), and married John Nicholson on 7 Dec. 1807 (the anniversary of her parents' marriage). She contributed to Poetical Pieces, a family collaboration which includes poems by her mother, brother (Peter Middleton Darling, q.v.), and “the late Mrs Home of Whitfield.” One of the poems by her brother, “To the Memory of a Beloved Sister,” indicates that Jessy had died by 1817.
