DARBY, Thomas (fl 1815)
His 1815 Poems tells us that his father was also Thomas Darby, that he was young at the time of the book’s publication, and that he was a farmer who almost certainly lived in Warwickshire. The poems are 24-line acrostics with “Thomas Darby Agriculturist” running down the left side. Nothing more is known for certain but he may have been the Thomas Darby who was born on 22 Jan. 1794 to Thomas and Sarah Darby and baptised in the Unitarian chapel, Birmingham, on 6 Apr.
