He lived in Paisley, Renfrewshire, but no other biographical information has been located. In addition to the two works in the database, he is said to have written a poem published as a pamphlet, Strictures on the Election of John Maxwell, Esq of Pollok, 4th July 1818 (Paisley, 1818), but no copy has been located.
