CRAWFORD, William (d 1821: ancestry.com)
As one of his title-pages indicates, he was a judge in the Gaspé in Quebec. A nephew of Matthew Lymburner, a merchant in the Canada trade, he arrived in Quebec about 1800, was called to the bar in 1804, and was appointed a provincial judge a year later. He lived at St. Peter's, Chaleur Bay, from 1806 onward. As Commissioner for Gaspé land claims, he submitted a Report to the Governor of Quebec in 1820 but died not long after, on 5 July 1821.
