CRAWFORD, David (fl 1798)

His book is dedicated to the governors of the charitable school, George Heriot’s Hospital. One poem summarizes the author’s history, explaining that he was a farmer who, becoming bankrupt, went to Edinburgh. There, he lived in poverty for eight years before the intercession of friends found him employment at Heriot’s Hospital. SR
