CHRISTIE, James (fl 1817)
His book is dedicated to John Cumine the younger of Auchry; Christie had been employed to teach Cumine and his brothers “the art of hunting and management of arms.” The preface states that he had little education but that the various families for whom he worked as a gamekeeper encouraged him to publish. The book includes a poem on the death of Christie’s brother. No public records or other information have been located. SR
