Author: Caulfeild, John
Biography:
CAULFEILD, John (fl 1777)
He was a cornet in the army when his book was published but no other certain biographical information has been located. The spelling of his surname indicates he may have been related to the Earl of Charlemont; if so, the precise connection has not been discovered. He had sent a copy of his book to Thomas Blacklock (q.v.) and two extracts from Blacklock's replies praising the poem as printed as prefaces to the book. SR
