Biography:

Case, Wheeler (1735-91: ancestry.com 1 Mar. 2018)

Born in New York State, son of Henry Case and Mary (Wheeler) Case, he was in the class of 1755 at Princeton and received the AM in 1759. He became a Presbyterian clergyman and served as pastor of the church in Pleasant Valley, New York, from 1765 until his death. He also farmed nearby. The name of his wife is not certain but he had at least one son, Walter, who is named in a reprint edition of the Poems prepared by the Rev. Stephen Dodd under the title Revolutionary Memorials (New York, 1852). Not to be confused with W. Case, Jr., who published only later, and only in England. (James McLachlan, Princetonians, 1748-1768 [1796], 137-8; Allibone)
