BUELL, Samuel (1716-98: ancestry.com)
Born into a farming family in Coventry CT, graduate of Yale in 1741, Buell was a Presbyterian minister in East Hampton NY for over fifty years. He married three times. A powerful revivalist preacher whose publications are mainly sermons, he was also an effective leader in the community: he established the first library and founded a school where boys and girls were taught a classical curriculum.
