BRYANTON, Robert Crowe (1763-1818: ancestry.co.uk)
He was the only son of Robert Bryanton of Ballymulvy, Co. Longford, and his wife Dorothy Evans Crowe. Through his mother, he was related to Eyre Evans Crowe (q.v.). He graduated LLB from Trinity College Dublin in 1789 and entered the Middle Temple, London. By 1794 he had returned to Dublin where he joined the Freemasons. He subscribed to Joshua Edkins’s three collections of poems (in the database with Edkins as editor) and to Frances Ryves’s (q.v.) Cumbrian Legends in 1812; her subscription list identified him as living in Dublin. He died at Killashee, Longford. He never married but his will left an annuity to Mrs. Elizabeth Foot of Westminster and a £500 legacy to her daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Foot.
