Mrs B----n is identified by Beveridge as Mrs Bonthron of Cairneyhill, near Dunfermline. She was of the Secession church; her book of religious poems is endorsed by Archibald Bruce, minister at Whitburn, and Ebenezer Brown, minister at Inverkeithing.
