Author: Blease, Elizabeth Bower
Biography:
BLEASE, Elizabeth Bower, later HARRISON (1790-1861: ancestry.co.uk)
She was born on 20 Sept. 1790 and baptised the following year at St. Anne’s, Soho, the only daughter of John Blease and his wife Susannah Booker. At the time of the publication of her Poems on Various Subjects (1817), they were living in Church Street, Soho. Her father died the same year so she may have published to assist her family although with only 120 subscribers it will not have raised much. She married the Rev. John Brownrigg Harrison (1804-1872), Vicar of Culgaith, 29 Sept. 1831 at Kirkland, near Penrith, Cumberland. A daughter, Susannah Blake Harrison, was born the following year. In 1839, Harrison was appointed Vicar of Plumpton. She died there in 1861, aged 71. (ancestry.co.uk 21 Aug. 2020; CCEd; Penrith Observer 13 Feb. 1872) AA
