BIRCH, Eliza (fl 1800)
She was a Quaker whose book is recorded in Friends’ Books; it was published in Manchester where she may have lived although her poems indicate that her early years were spent in Warwick. Her title page identifies her father as Thomas Birch “late of Warwick” and a member of the Staffordshire Birch family. However, no records—including in Quaker archives—have been located that can be linked to this author. One of the poems describes attending a Friends’ meeting in Warwick. (Friends’ Books)
