BEEMAN, Anna, formerly Keeney (1739-1809: ancestry.com)
A hymn writer and Baptist polemicist, she was born in Stratford CT, the daughter of Abigail (Dickinson) and John Keeney. On 15 Dec. 1757 she married Park (or Parke) Beeman in Kent CT; their nine children were all born in Kent. From 1750 until his death in 1802, Park Beeman was employed as a tax collector at Warren CT. Her Three Letters to a Lady in Opposition to the Baptist Plan (1794) defends the Baptist practice of adult baptism. (Todd 1; ancestry.com 21 Nov. 2017, 5 July 2025) HJ
