Author: Beavan, Edward
Biography:
BEAVAN, Edward (fl 1777)
Internal evidence from his loco-descriptive poem suggests that he was young and from London or the area around Box Hill. However searches are complicated by the variant spelling of the surname: Bevan, Beven, etc. Possibly he was the Edward Bevan, son of Edward and Susanna Bevan, who was baptised at St. Clement Danes, London, on 16 Apr. 1752. A note at the end of the poem states that it was printed from a manuscript written in 1772. No further traces have been found. (ancestry.co.uk 4 Feb. 2023) SR
