BEATTIE, William (1762-1815: BBA)

He was born at Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, and became a “heckler” or flax-dresser at a factory in the Gallowgate, Aberdeen. Some of his poems were reprinted in an 1832 book by Alexander Beattie (q.v.), likely a cousin. (BBA) SR
