Biography:

Bayley, Cornwall (1784-1807: ancestry.com)

One of 11 children of Thomas and Mary (Leggatt) Bayley, he attended Cambridge and published a study in Greek and Latin, Epigrammata numismata, there in 1802. In 1804 he travelled to Quebec, where his one poem was composed and published. He visited New York and Philadelphia, married the daughter of a doctor in Montreal, but then returned to England, where he died of consumption in Doncaster. (ancestry.com 14 Nov. 2017; D. M. R.
