Author: Barwick, Henry

Biography:

BARWICK, Henry (fl 1807)

Nothing is known for certain beyond what his book tells us: that he was an excise officer at Stanstead, that his father was an unbeneficed clergyman, and that financial reasons had prevented him from being educated for the church as he wished. His book was not well-received; BC urged the author to be satisfied with gauging casks and weighing tobacco. (BC 30 [1808], 81) SR
