Biography:

AVELINE, E. L. (fl 1810-15)

Aveline was her married name. An English author whose work was published anonymously and then misattributed for a time. The prolific children's authors Ann and Jane Taylor apparently assisted in the revision of A Mother's Fables and in 1845 the title-page claimed it for them. The error was corrected in 1861 when it was credited to Mrs. Aveline. (Stewart; RPW)
