ALLEN, Thomas Sewell (1792-1864: ancestry.co.uk)
Reliable information is in short supply but he was baptised in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, on 10 June 1792; his father’s name was Thomas Allen but the baptismal record gives his mother’s name only as “Urania.” He may have lived in France for a time and his only other publication is The Parrot, and Other Poems, a translation from Jean-Baptiste-Louis Gresset. He never married. He died at Alpha Cottage, Fairfield Bow, Middlesex, on 20 Nov. 1864, leaving effects of under £1000. (ancestry.co.uk 20 July 2022) SR
