ALLEN, James (c. 1738-1808: ancestry.com)
The son of a Boston merchant, he attended Harvard but left without a degree. He is said to have written a great deal of poetry, including an epic entitled "Bunker Hill," but was according to Kettell too indolent to have any of it published.
