Biography:
AIRD, Andrew (fl 1815)
There is little reliable information, but he is listed in the 1812 Paisley Directory as having a joiner’s workshop in the High Street. He may later have moved to Edinburgh. The title, Hope-Temple, refers to a substantial building with extensive grounds that was built in Paisley in 1797 by John Love, a prosperous merchant. The grounds still exist and are known as Fountain Gardens. (PP)
