Author: Adams, M.
Biography:
ADAMS, M. (fl 1820)
His books are among several spinoffs from The Political House that Jack Built by William Hone (q.v.). The title page of A Parody on the Political House the Jack Built gives the author's name as "M. Adams, Satirist." The title page of The Loyal Man in the Moon does not name the author but identifies him as the author of "The Constitutional House that Jack Built." It seems likely that the two works were issued at roughly the same time, both by C. Chapple who advertised them as by the same man in another 1820 work, The Political Quixote. However, M. Adams has not otherwise been identified. (contributions from JC) SR
