ADAMS, John Turvill (1805-82: WBIS)
Lawyer, editor, author of novels as well as poems. According to his obituary in the NY Herald-Tribune of 1 Apr. 1882, he was born in Demerara (other sources give variants of the exact location in South America) but lived for most of his life in Norwich CT and was Judge of the Probate Court in 1839.
